This page says what this project is not, so nobody has to guess.
1We are not Bohemia Interactive
DayZ, Arma, Livonia, Chernarus, Sakhal and Bohemia Interactive are trademarks or registered trademarks of Bohemia Interactive a.s. Steam and the Steam logo are trademarks of Valve Corporation. BattlEye belongs to BattlEye Innovations.
This project is independent. It is not made by, endorsed by, sponsored by or affiliated with any of them. We use their names only to say which game our tools work with, which is what trademark law calls nominative use.
We do not sell DayZ, we do not distribute its files, and we cannot help you obtain the game other than by buying it on Steam.
2Your server, your rules, your responsibility
Our tools configure and maintain servers that you run. What happens on them is yours: the rules you set, the mods you install, how you treat your players, and whether you comply with the game licence and the mod authors' terms.
We do not moderate your server or its in-game chat, and we do not act as an appeal body for players you banned. Chat lines can appear in the server logs that you or the assistant open through the panel; we do not read or moderate them.
3About the public server list
The server list is assembled from the Steam master list, refreshed about once a minute, and from directly querying game servers over the public A2S protocol. It is information servers publish about themselves.
Two honest caveats:
- It can be wrong or stale. A server that just went down still shows for a while. Player counts come from what the server reports, and a server can report whatever it likes
- Mod lists can be missing or out of date. A background pass asks servers that run mods and have players for their mod list, and asks each of them again once its list is more than 6 hours old. A server without players has a list only if someone opened its page here, and a server that does not answer has none
If your server is listed and you want it removed, write to us. We will remove it, though anyone else can rebuild the same list from Steam, so the effect is limited to this site.
4About the guides
The wiki is written by us from working practice and from public documentation. We check what we publish and we say when sources disagree instead of picking one silently. We still get things wrong sometimes, and DayZ changes.
Treat it as a good starting point, not as a specification. Where we know the official documentation is wrong, we say so on the page and explain why.
5About the launcher
The AR16 Launcher is our own software, distributed free. It is for Windows only, because DayZ is.
It connects you to servers and downloads the mods a server needs: from the Steam Workshop, or from our storage when the server owner uploaded their own mods there. It does not modify game files, it does not touch anti-cheat, and it does not give any advantage in the game. If a server rejects your connection, that is the server or the game deciding, not us.
6Links out
We link to the Steam Workshop, to Steam profiles and to third party documentation. We do not control any of it and we are not responsible for what you find there.
