What happened to OmegaManager
- CFTools stopped developing OmegaManager. Their help center says it "has been discontinued and is being replaced by Architect".
- Architect is a separate CFTools product with its own terms. It runs as an agent, one per machine.
- Software that is no longer developed does not get fixes. The next DayZ, Steam or Windows change that breaks your setup stays broken.

What comes across
Sentinel takes over the server you already have. Nothing is reinstalled and nothing is downloaded again.
The server folder
The game files stay where they are. You point Sentinel at the folder with DayZServer_x64.exe and it works from there.
Your settings
Everything in serverDZ.cfg: name, ports, slots, mission, password and whitelist, plus launch parameters and a working RCON password.
Your world
Characters and bases live in the mission folder. The server keeps the same mission and instance, so players come back to what they left.
What works differently
- Windows only. Sentinel runs on Windows. If your server runs on Linux, it is not for you yet.
- Mods are not read from omega.cfg. After the move, compare the server's mod list in Sentinel with the mods in your omega.cfg and add what is missing.
- Paid plans add a team, longer history, more machines, cloud storage and the AI Assistant. Everything in the table below is free with the machine linked to the panel on the Free plan: Workshop mods, bringing a crashed server back, starting with Windows, automatic backups and Discord alerts included.
Moving, step by step
About half an hour for one server. Do it when nobody is playing.
-
Make a copy
Copy the mission folder (mpmissions) and the profile folder somewhere safe, and keep your omega.cfg. If anything goes wrong, you put them back.
-
Stop OmegaManager
Stop the servers and close OmegaManager. If it ran as a Windows service, stop the service and set it to manual. Two managers on one server would fight over the same files.
-
Install Sentinel
Download Sentinel on the same Windows machine and start it. On the first start it asks where your DayZ server is.
-
Point it at your server
Choose "I already have it" and pick the folder with DayZServer_x64.exe that OmegaManager used. Sentinel looks for serverDZ.cfg there and two folder levels down, and takes over every server it finds.
-
Check the mods
Sign in to SteamCMD in Sentinel's Steam settings (it asks for the Steam Guard code once). Then compare the mod list with your omega.cfg. Mods missing from the folder are left out of the load order until you add them.
-
Set the restarts
Add restart times and days, and in-game warnings before each one. Sentinel clears the server a minute before so DayZ can save characters. Free on every plan.
-
Start and check
Start the server, join it and check that your character and the bases are there. If you want to manage it from a browser or a phone, link the machine to the panel on this site.
-
Remove OmegaManager
When everything works, uninstall OmegaManager. Keep the copy from step 1 for a few more days.

Questions
Do I have to reinstall the server?
No. Sentinel works with the folder you already have and takes over the servers it finds there.
Will players lose their characters?
No, as long as the mission and instance in serverDZ.cfg stay the same: the world lives in the mission folder, and Sentinel keeps both. Make the copy from step 1 anyway.
Can I keep OmegaManager running next to Sentinel?
Not on the same server. Both would start, stop and update the same files. Stop OmegaManager first.
Sentinel did not find my server. What now?
It skips the untouched sample config that ships with DayZ and a server whose ports are already taken. Create the server in Sentinel instead and copy your settings over from serverDZ.cfg.
How much does it cost?
Sentinel and the move are free, and so is everything in the table above, with the machine linked to the panel on the Free plan. Paid plans add a team, longer history, more machines and cloud storage; see the pricing section of the Sentinel page.
Ready to move?
Download Sentinel, point it at your server folder and you are done with the hard part.
