These terms govern your use of dz.arbat16.com (the website with the public server list and the wiki), the cloud panel, the AR16 Sentinel program, the AR16 Launcher and the AI assistant in the panel. Together we call them the service. By creating an account, linking a machine, paying us or using the launcher you accept these terms. When you link a machine to the cloud, we also ask you to confirm that you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.
Written to be read once and understood, not to be impossible to argue with.
1What the service is
We provide tools for running DayZ game servers: deployment, updates of the game and its mods, configuration through a browser, scheduled restarts, backups and notifications. Alongside that we publish a public list of DayZ servers, a Steam ID reference and documentation.
We are not Bohemia Interactive and we are not affiliated with them. We do not sell the game, we do not host your server hardware unless a separate agreement says so, and we do not control what happens on servers you run.
2Your account
Sign-in goes through Steam. You are responsible for keeping your Steam account secure: anyone who controls it controls your account here.
- One person, one account. Do not share credentials.
- You must be at least 18 years old to use the service, and only adults may pay for it.
- If you link a machine or pay for an organization, you confirm that you may accept these terms on its behalf.
- Everything done through your account is treated as done by you. If you see a sign-in you do not recognise in your settings, tell us at once.
3What you may not do
- Use the service to attack, overload or break into anything, including other people's game servers
- Automate our public pages beyond what the API allows, or work around its limits
- Resell access, or run the tools on behalf of others as a hosting business, without a written agreement
- Upload or distribute anything that infringes someone else's rights, including cracked game files or mods republished without permission
- Put malware, cheats or anything else that harms players or their computers into mods or other files you upload or send through the service
- Misuse the data of players on your servers: publish their IP addresses or tracking data, sell it, or use it to harass or follow anyone
- Reverse engineer, decompile or tamper with Sentinel or the launcher, or interfere with how they talk to our servers, except where the law allows it regardless of this rule
- Earn money from your server in ways that Bohemia Interactive's rules for monetizing DayZ servers do not allow
- Impersonate us, imply we endorse your server, or use our name as if you were part of the project
The public API at /api/getDayZServerList is open on purpose. Use it in your own launcher, your Discord bot, whatever you like. Ask for what you need rather than pulling the full list every minute: that is a request, not a rule, and we would rather keep it open.
4What stays yours
Your server configurations, your loot economy files, your backups and your game data stay yours. We do not claim any right to them and we do not use them for anything except running the service you asked for.
To run the service we need a narrow permission from you. You allow us to store, process and transmit your content (server settings and files, backups, mods you upload, messages to players, assistant chats) only to provide the service to you and the people you add to your organization, and, for mods you upload, to serve them to the players of your servers through the AR16 Launcher. You confirm that you have the right to give this permission. It ends when the content is deleted from our systems.
If you stop using the service, you can take your configurations with you. They are plain text files and they were never locked to us.
5What stays ours
The site, the launcher, the documentation we wrote and the interface are ours. You may use them, not copy them wholesale.
The public server list is factual data about publicly announced game servers. We do not claim ownership of the facts. We do ask that if you build on it, you say where the data came from.
6Sentinel, the launcher and the assistant
Sentinel. We give you a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to install AR16 Sentinel on computers you control and to use it to run your game servers, free of charge. Sentinel updates itself from our release feed. When you link a computer to the cloud, the panel sends it the commands that you and the people in your organization trigger, each within the rights of their role, and Sentinel carries them out on that computer. Commands from our server are signed, and Sentinel checks the signature before it acts.
The launcher. The AR16 Launcher is free. It updates itself from the same release feed and downloads the mods a server needs.
The assistant. The AI assistant in the panel answers questions and, when asked, acts on your servers. Its answers can be wrong, so check what matters before you rely on them. It reads without asking. A change it proposes runs only after the person who asked confirms it on its card. That person can tick Do not ask in this chat: from then on, ordinary changes in that chat run without a card, while irreversible actions, such as deletions and restores, always ask. A change made either way is that person's action, done with that person's rights. The assistant is paid from your organization's assistant balance, as shown in the panel.
7Paid plans
Plans, cloud storage and assistant balance are paid through Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- Prices and what each plan includes are shown before you pay
- Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time
- Refunds, and what happens to the money when you change plans or add storage, are covered by our Refund Policy
- If we raise a price, we tell you at least 14 days before. The new price applies from your first billing period that starts after that, and you can cancel before it does
Files in our cloud storage (backup copies and uploaded mods) are kept for 14 days on the Free and Plus plans and 30 days on the Max plan after your plan stops covering them, for example after a move to a smaller plan, a cancelled storage add-on or the end of a paid plan. The number of days is that of the plan that covered the files. We tell you when this starts, a week before and a day before. When that time is up, we delete what does not fit in the storage you pay for, oldest backup copies first; deleted files cannot be restored. Servers keep the mods they already have.
8When a paid plan ends or gets smaller
A paid plan ends when you cancel it and the paid period runs out, when the free Plus offer reaches its date, or when a payment fails. If a renewal payment fails, paid features stay for a short grace period while the payment is retried; if it still does not go through, your organization moves to Free.
When your organization moves to Free, or to a plan that allows less:
- Team. On Free only the owner can use the panel. Other members are suspended with their roles kept, and get access back when the organization is on a paid plan again
- Machines. Free and Plus allow one machine in the cloud. Other machines leave the cloud completely: the panel sends them no commands and we accept no data from them, until you choose which machine stays active or move to a plan that allows more. Sentinel keeps running your servers on every computer
- History. History the new plan does not keep is held for 30 days and then deleted
- Assistant. On Free the assistant stops. Its balance stays for when you return to Plus or Max, and chats are kept 30 days and then deleted
- Cloud storage. Files over the storage you pay for are deleted after the period described in the section on paid plans
Game servers that are running keep running in every one of these cases.
9The Free plan and the free Plus offer
The Free plan costs nothing and has no time limit. We may change what Free includes. If a change takes something away, we tell you at least 14 days before, as with any change to these terms.
Plus free until 3 January 2027. An organization on Free that has never had a subscription to a paid plan, an add-on (such as cloud storage) or an assistant top-up through Stripe, in any status (a subscription whose first payment failed, or that was cancelled, counts too), can take Plus for free until 3 January 2027, 00:00 UTC, without a card. Each organization can take it once. It ends early when the organization pays for a plan, including a move to Max, and cannot be taken again after that. On 3 January 2027, 00:00 UTC the organization returns to Free unless it pays for a plan, as described in the section above.
10Processing of player data
This section is our data processing agreement with you under Article 28 of the GDPR. It is part of these terms, and you accept it together with them.
Subject and purpose. When you connect game servers through Sentinel, we process data about the people who play on them on your behalf. You are the controller of that data and we are your processor. It covers player sessions and events, positions on the map and inventory snapshots, totals per player, public Steam profiles and Steam ban status, bans with their reasons and the notes your staff write, including SteamIDs, BattlEye GUIDs, DayZ IDs, nicknames and IP addresses. It also covers the lines of your game servers' logs that Sentinel sends while someone has them open in the live log view (the console and the RPT, script and admin logs; the admin log carries player names and IDs, positions and chat), and what the panel or the assistant reads from your computers. We process it only to run the panel features you use and only on your instructions, which you give through the panel and these terms. We do not use it for anything of our own and we do not sell it. If we believe an instruction of yours breaks data protection law, we tell you.
How long we keep it. Sessions and events, positions and inventory snapshots: 1 day on the Free plan, 30 days on Plus, 90 days on Max. After a move to a plan that keeps less, for example from a paid plan to Free, history the new plan does not keep is held for 30 days and then deleted. Totals per player stay until you ask us to delete them. Removing a ban or a note in the panel hides it from the lists but keeps it in the history; to delete it for good, write to privacy@dz.arbat16.com. Public Steam profiles and Steam ban status are copied from Steam when someone opens the player and refreshed when the copy is more than a day old; the copy is kept until you ask us to delete it. Log lines for the live view are kept about 30 minutes while the computer keeps sending them; the last lines of a computer that stops sending stay until it sends again. What the panel or the assistant reads from your computers (log excerpts, files) stays in our command log as long as the account exists, and it can contain player data such as nicknames, SteamIDs and IP addresses. World backups in our cloud storage follow your backup schedule and the cloud storage rules in the section on paid plans.
Confidentiality and security. Only the people who run the service can reach this data, and they are bound to keep it confidential. Access to the production server and the database is limited to them. Our measures: all traffic goes over HTTPS; server and RCON passwords are encrypted with your organization's key, which our server does not hold; commands to your computers are signed by our server and requests from Sentinel are signed with the computer's own key, so neither side acts on unsigned instructions; inside your organization only the members you add can see the data, with the roles and rights you give them. If a breach affects this data, we tell you without undue delay and no later than 48 hours after we become aware of it, with what we know at that point, so that you can meet your own duties, including a notice to an authority within 72 hours.
Audits and assessments. We answer your questions about how we handle this data and give you what you need to show that you comply with the law. On written request and with reasonable notice, we cooperate with an audit or inspection by you or by an auditor you appoint who is bound to confidentiality, at most once a year unless there has been a breach or an authority requires it. We help you with a data protection impact assessment and a prior consultation with an authority (GDPR Articles 35 and 36) as far as they concern our processing.
Other companies that handle it. You allow us to use these sub-processors:
| Company | What it does with player data |
|---|---|
| Fornex Hosting (Spain), data center in Germany | Hosts the server and the database where the data is stored |
| Cloudflare (USA), including its R2 storage | Carries the traffic of the site, the panel and what Sentinel uploads; R2 stores world backups, which can contain the game’s own files with player data |
| Steam, Valve Corporation (USA) | Receives SteamIDs and returns public profiles and ban status |
| Requesty and the company that hosts the AI model | When someone in your organization uses the assistant: player data in what it reads to answer (log excerpts, files such as ban lists and whitelists) goes to the model through Requesty |
Stripe, which takes our payments, receives no player data. We use these companies only under terms that bind them to data protection obligations no weaker than those in this section, and we remain responsible to you for their part (GDPR Article 28(4)). Discord and the webhook addresses you add are not our sub-processors: they are recipients you choose, and an alert or a message goes there on your instruction. Transfers outside the European Economic Area rely on the grounds described in our Privacy Policy. If we add a company to this list, we update it here before that company receives any player data, and you can object by writing to us.
Requests from players. If a player asks you to see, correct or delete data about them, we help you answer in time: you can remove bans and notes in the panel yourself, which hides them from the lists, and to delete anything for good, or for anything else, write to privacy@dz.arbat16.com. If a player writes to us directly, we pass the request on to you.
When you leave. If you ask us to delete your account or your organization, we delete the player data of your organization within 30 days. On request we first give you a copy in a machine-readable form.
Your part. You decide whether to collect this data, and you need your own legal ground for it. You confirm that you have that ground and that your instructions to us comply with the law. Tell the players on your servers about it, for example in the server rules or on your website, and say who they can contact. You may link to this section.
11Ending it
You can ask us to delete your account at any time, without giving a reason.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks the rules above. Except for cases that need an immediate stop, such as an active attack, we will tell you what happened and give you a chance to answer. If we close a paid account without cause, we refund the unused part.
12Limits of our responsibility
The service is provided as it is. We work to keep it running and we will tell you honestly when something is broken, but we do not promise it never will be.
We are not responsible for: DayZ itself and its updates, Steam being down, mods you install, what happens on your server, hardware you rent elsewhere, or data you lost because you had no backup of your own.
You are responsible for your content and for how you use the data of players on your servers. If someone makes a claim against us because of your content, the mods you upload, or processing of player data that breaks the law or these terms on your side, you cover our reasonable losses and costs from that claim, as far as the law allows.
Where the law allows us to limit liability, our total liability to you is capped at what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for things that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing here removes rights that consumer law in your country gives you regardless of what a contract says.
13Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the State of New York, United States. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory rules of the country where you live.
Before going anywhere formal, write to us. Most things are a misunderstanding and get fixed in a day.
14Changes
We may change these terms. The date at the top shows when. For changes that affect what you pay or what you may do, we will tell you at least 14 days ahead, and if you disagree you can cancel before they take effect. After a change we may ask you to agree to the new version the next time you link a machine.
