Your DayZ server runs itself

AR16 Sentinel sets up your DayZ server on your own machine and keeps it running: restarts, mods, backups, alerts. Manage it from any browser.

Plan

Everything inside is clickable: machines, the menu, buttons, switches, chart windows and the AI Assistant. Switch the plan to see what each one opens.

10min from download to a running server
0 ports to open: your machine calls the panel, never the other way round
$0 to start: the app is free, and so is the first plan
How it fits together

An app next to your server, a panel in your browser

Sentinel does the work on your machine. The panel lets you and your admins drive it from anywhere, your phone included.

1

Install Sentinel

Download, unzip, point it at a folder. From the first minute it runs your servers on its own, with or without an account.

2

Connect it from the app

Start the connection in Sentinel. It opens a window where you sign in with Steam and confirm the machine. No codes to copy, and your organisation is created on the first sign-in.

3

Run it from anywhere

The machine shows up in your panel and from then on checks in by itself. We never connect to it, so there is no port to open and nothing to expose.

What it does

Nine chores you stop doing

Eight of them are free on every plan, from the browser too. The AI Assistant comes with Plus and Max, and paid plans also keep more history and add your team, more machines and cloud storage.

A server in ten minutes

Point Sentinel at a folder and it lays out a working DayZ server: map, start line, config. No SteamCMD commands, no start file written by hand.

Free

Mods that actually load

It reads what Steam put on disk, catches the empty mod folder that silently stops a server, and builds the load order with dependencies first.

Free

Restarts while you sleep

Warnings in chat, the server cleared a minute before, then the restart. Live logs with server FPS picked out of the noise.

Free

Back up after a crash

A server that falls over is started again, backing off from 30 seconds to 15 minutes. Update guard rolls back a mod that breaks the start.

Free

Worlds you can put back

The world, missions and configs copied in the restart window, restored in two clicks. With cloud storage on Plus or Max, a copy also lives off the machine.

Free

You hear first

Crashes, low FPS, an empty world or a machine that went quiet, in the panel and in your Discord, before players start asking.

Free

Players at a glance

Who is online, their health, ping and sessions. Whitelist, kick and bans that every machine in the organisation enforces.

Free

Server files in the browser

serverDZ.cfg, types.xml, loot tables and BattlEye, opened from the panel and saved back to the machine. No RDP.

Free

An assistant that reads the logs

Ask why the server crashed and get an answer in plain words. It can fix things too, but only after you confirm on a card.

Questions

Questions people actually ask

What people write to us about before they download it.

I have never run a server. Will I manage?
That is who it is for. Point Sentinel at a folder and it lays out a working server: downloads the files, writes the config, builds the start line. You pick the map and the mods, it does the rest. No SteamCMD commands, no start file to write by hand.
Where does the server actually run?
On your own machine, or on hardware you rent yourself. Sentinel is a program you install, not a hosting service. Your files and your players stay yours, and if you stop using Sentinel the server keeps running.
Is there a limit on servers or machines?
Servers, no: every plan runs every server on your machines. Machines, yes: on Free and Plus one machine is linked to the cloud, on Max as many as you have. Sentinel itself runs on any machine without a plan.
What is free and what is paid?
The app is free, and so is the Free plan of the panel: one machine and every server on it, run from the browser, with backups, mods, alerts, the player tracker and bans. Paid plans keep more history on our side and add people: a team with roles, longer player history and activity log, more machines on Max, cloud storage and the AI Assistant.
Do I have to use the cloud panel?
No. Sentinel runs your servers on its own. Connect it to the panel when you want to manage it from a browser or your phone, or share the work with other admins.
What happens when my machine is switched off?
Then the panel cannot do anything to it, and it says so. Commands wait in a queue and go out when the machine checks in again. Screens show the last known state and how old it is, instead of drawing old numbers as if they were live.
What does the AI Assistant actually do?
It reads the state of your machines, the logs and the configs, and answers in plain words: why a server crashed, which mod broke the start, what a setting does. It can also act for you, restart a server or change a setting, but every change comes as a card you confirm first, and it can never do more than you are allowed to. By default it may only read. It comes with Plus and Max: 5 free requests a month until you unlock it with a first top-up of $5, then you pay as you go.
Can my admins use it too?
Yes, on Plus and Max, with no limit on how many. Everyone signs in with their own Steam account and gets a role, so you decide who can restart, who can ban and who can only look. The activity log shows who did what. On Free it is just you.
What if I stop paying?
The plan runs to the end of the period you paid for, then the organisation moves to Free. The servers keep running on your machine and the panel keeps working for one machine. History that Free does not keep stays for 30 days, then it is deleted, and files in cloud storage are deleted after a grace period unless storage is paid for again.
What does Sentinel send to you?
Without the panel, nothing about you: it talks to Steam to download the server and mods, and to our site to check for a newer version. Once you connect it, the machine reports server state and metrics and fetches its commands. Server and RCON passwords are encrypted with your organisation key, which our server cannot open on its own.
I already have a server. Will I lose it?
No. Point Sentinel at the folder that already exists and it reads what is there instead of overwriting it. Nothing changes until you change it. Take a copy of the folder first anyway, that is just sense.
Do I need to own DayZ?
You need a Steam account. The dedicated server itself is free on Steam and does not require owning the game, but you will want a copy to test what you built.
Can I change the map?
Chernarus, Livonia, Sakhal and modded maps. Sentinel rewrites the mission block and moves the files where they belong, which is the step people usually get wrong.
How do mods work?
It reads what Steam already put on your disk, checks each folder is not empty, and builds the load order with dependencies first. The empty folder check matters more than it sounds: an empty mod folder stops the server from starting and DayZ does not say why. On every plan you can also install and update mods straight from the panel. Uploading a mod of your own needs cloud storage, an add-on on Plus and Max.
Windows only. Will there be Linux?
Right now, Windows only. A Linux DayZ server exists, so a Linux build is possible, but we are not promising a date for something we have not started.
